Functional principle: simultaneous
With the simultaneous functional principle, the near effect is located in the center and the distance effect in the adjacent periphery of the contact lens.
Due to the simultaneous placement of the distance and near zones in the area of the pupil, there is always a simultaneous (simultaneous) image of the distance and near zones. The momentarily unwanted image (distance or near) is ideally suppressed by the brain and not perceived.
A very small pupil opening or a decentered lens fit can impair visual performance.
