Functional principle: simultaneous
In the simultaneous functional principle, the distance effect is located in the center and the near effect in the adjacent periphery of the contact lens or vice versa.
Due to the simultaneous placement of the distance and near zones in the area of the pupil, there is always a simultaneous (simultaneous) imaging of the distance and near zones. The currently undesired image (far or near) is ideally suppressed by the brain and not perceived.
A very small pupil opening or a decentered lens fit can impair visual performance.
