Functional principle: simultaneous
With the simultaneous function principle, the distance effect is located in the centre and the near effect in the adjacent periphery of the contact lens or vice versa.
The simultaneous placement of the far and near zones in the area of the pupil always results in a simultaneous (simultaneous) image of the far and near zones. The currently undesired image (far or near) is ideally suppressed by the brain and not perceived.
A very small pupil opening or an off-centred lens fit can impair visual performance.
