The Bausch Lomb ULTRA for Presbyopia is the latest multifocal lens innovation made of silicone hydrogel material from Bausch Lomb.
According to the manufacturer, a novel manufacturing process has succeeded in uniquely combining long-chain and short-chain silicone chains, enabling a high oxygen supply for the eyes. In addition, thanks to Moisture Seal™ technology, the contact lens contains a firmly integrated wetting agent called polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a moisture reservoir - as a result, the Bausch Lomb ULTRA™ has significantly fewer deposits and ensures long-lasting wearing comfort.
The"low" addition is used for near additions of +0.75 to +1.50 Dpt.
The"high" addition is used for near additions of +1.75 to +2.50 Dpt.
This lens type is only suitable to a limited extent for near additions above +2.50 Dpt.

Functional principle: simultaneous
With the simultaneous functional principle, the distance effect is located in the center and the near effect in the adjacent periphery of the contact lens or vice versa.
Due to the simultaneous placement of the distance and near zones in the area of the pupil, there is always a simultaneous (simultaneous) imaging of the distance and near zones. The currently undesired image (far or near) is ideally suppressed by the brain and not perceived.
